Baghdad: The Council of Ministers has sanctioned the implementation of additional customs duties on specific imported goods. This new directive includes a 30% customs duty on white plates and containers made of polystyrene granules intended for food preservation, applicable to imports from all countries and origins.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Council has also mandated a 75% customs duty on imported paper napkins entering Iraq from any country or origin. This duty will be in effect for a duration of four years without any planned reduction. The local market will be observed throughout the duration of these duties, with the decision scheduled to take effect 120 days following its issuance.
