Baghdad: A truck loaded with smuggled medicines was seized at the Al-Rashidiya checkpoint, as announced by the Explosives Control Directorate. This operation is part of ongoing efforts to enhance inspection and monitoring procedures and combat smuggling activities.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the directorate revealed that the remote video surveillance unit detected a truck carrying a significant quantity of smuggled medicines as it passed through the specialized inspection device known as M60. The surveillance unit’s detection prompted the specialized detachment to act swiftly, resulting in the successful seizure of the truck and the illicit materials it contained.

The truck, along with the seized medicines, has been turned over to the relevant authorities. These authorities will now undertake the necessary legal procedures against those involved, ensuring compliance with the applicable laws and regulations.
