Crystal Meth Smuggling Foiled at Shalamcheh Border Crossing


Shalamcheh: The Border Ports Authority announced the seizure of approximately one and a half kilograms of crystal meth in possession of a foreign traveler at the Shalamcheh border crossing.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Authority stated in a statement: “Detachments from the Shalamcheh border crossing Directorate arrested a foreign traveler and seized 1,450 kilograms of crystal meth hidden in his possession in two ways: the first inside an iron pipe with both ends closed, and the second inside pieces of toast bread, in an attempt to smuggle it into the country.”



It explained: “The seizure operation was carried out through the efforts of the Shalamcheh Port Technical Division and the Anti-Narcotics Division, in cooperation with the Shalamcheh Customs Police Station, the K9 Detachment, and the Licensing and Intelligence Division.”
