BAGHDAD: The General Authority of Customs has announced a significant shift in its operations, revealing that it will permanently suspend paper work concerning customs declarations. From January 1, 2025, the authority will rely solely on electronic customs declarations, marking a move towards digitalization in customs procedures.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, this decision aims to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and reduce the environmental impact associated with paper usage. The transition to electronic customs declarations is expected to enhance the accuracy and speed of customs operations, benefiting both the authority and its clients.
