Kirkuk: Customs officials at the Kirkuk Airport Customs Center have successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle $226,000, as announced by the General Authority of Customs. The interception took place during routine inspection procedures in the departure hall, with the traveler found in possession of the undeclared cash, violating the Central Bank of Iraq's regulations.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the General Authority of Customs has confirmed that a formal seizure report was prepared following the incident. A legal case has been filed against the traveler in compliance with the applicable customs regulations and instructions. The operation was carried out in the presence of relevant authorities and under the direct supervision of the center's administration.
