London: Czech player Karolina Muchova, ranked ninth in the world, reached the Wimbledon final, the third Grand Slam tournament of the year, with a hard-fought victory over American Coco Gauff, ranked seventh, 6-2, 1-6, 7-6 (12-10) on Thursday.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, three years after her first Grand Slam final at Roland Garros, Muchova, who saved a match point against Gauff, will attempt to win her first major title against either her compatriot Linda Noskova (ranked 12) or Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk (ranked 13), who will face each other later following the first semifinal.
