Najaf, The President of the Iraqi Football Association, Adnan Darjal, confirmed that the “sports ban” on Iraq was lifted with the hosting of the Gulf 25, expressing his happiness at the meeting of the members of the national team with Muqtada al-Sadr.
After the meeting, Darjal said, “We took a lot of advice from Sayyid Muqtada Al-Sadr.”
In his response to a question about lifting the ban on Iraqi stadiums, Darjal added, “I hope not to talk about lifting the ban now, because it was already lifted.”
“The prime minister promised us unlimited support,” Darjal continued.
Regarding the national team’s meeting with the supreme religious authority, Sayyid Ali al-Sistani, he did not deny or confirm, but he said, “God willing.”
