Dawa Party Emphasizes Military and Economic Strength for Sovereignty


Baghdad:The Islamic Dawa Party has stated that safeguarding Iraq’s national sovereignty is contingent upon bolstering the readiness of its armed forces and achieving economic independence.



According to Iraqi News Agency, the party highlighted the historical significance of Iraqis’ commitment to national sovereignty, marked by their resistance to foreign occupation and the withdrawal of foreign forces on December 31, 2011, when the last U.S. soldier left the country.



The Dawa Party emphasized the importance of establishing stable relations with other countries based on mutual respect and national security. It called for enhancing the capabilities of the armed forces and achieving financial independence while ensuring citizens’ rights and freedoms.



The party underscored the need for a pluralistic and democratic political system, advocating for national dialogue and a united front against terrorism. It also stressed supporting government reforms, fighting corruption, and improving public services.



Additionally, the party called for honoring those who defended Iraq’s sovereignty and acknowledged the supreme religious authority as a unifying force for all Iraqis.
