Death Sentence Issued for ISIS-Affiliated Criminal by Karkh Criminal Court

Baghdad: The Karkh Criminal Court has imposed a death sentence on an individual linked to the terrorist organization ISIS. The court’s decision marks a significant step in the ongoing efforts to counteract terrorism in the region.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Supreme Judicial Council released a statement revealing that the convicted terrorist was involved in armed activities targeting security forces in the Qaim district. These actions were intended to destabilize security, incite fear among the population, and further the objectives of terrorism in the Anbar Governorate during 2014.

The legal proceedings were conducted under the framework of Article 4/1, in conjunction with Articles 2/1, 3, and 4 of the Anti-Terrorism Law No. 13 of 2005. This legislation provides the judicial basis for prosecuting and sentencing individuals engaged in terrorist activities.
