Diyala: The Diyala Criminal Court / Second Panel has issued a death sentence against a man accused of burning a child to death in the village of Dhubab in the Abu Saida district. The incident occurred on August 4, 2024, and the sentence was delivered after the arrest and referral of the accused to the judiciary.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the sentence was based on the provisions of Article 406/A and C of the Iraqi Penal Code. This decision followed the completion of legal procedures and the apprehension of the accused by the Diyala Anti-Crime Department.

The Diyala Police Command emphasized its commitment to monitoring any attempts to disrupt security and community peace. It also noted that strict measures will be enforced to maintain the security and stability of the province.
