Death Toll from Nightclub Roof Collapse in Dominican Republic Rises to 79


Santo Domingo: The death toll from the collapse of a nightclub roof in the Dominican Republic has risen to 79, according to the director of the Emergency Operations Center, Juan Manuel Mendez, in a new update on the number of victims today, Wednesday.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, Mendez told reporters: “The current figures are: 155 people were taken to the hospital and 79 have died.”



The roof of the Jet Set nightclub collapsed last night, Tuesday, in the capital, Santo Domingo. Following the tragedy, President Luis Abinader signed a decree declaring three days of national mourning for the victims in Santo Domingo.
