Baghdad: Defense Minister Thabet Mohammed Al-Abbasi received the South Korean Defense Minister, Ahn Jeop-bak, and his delegation in his office on Wednesday.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting focused on enhancing bilateral relations between the defense ministries of Iraq and South Korea, specifically in armament, equipment, training, and air defense system development. Both parties highlighted the significance of expanding joint cooperation, which is expected to boost the capabilities of the Iraqi armed forces and facilitate the exchange of expertise in training and military technology, aligning with the common interests of Iraq and South Korea.
The Defense Minister expressed gratitude for South Korea's military and technical support, voicing his hopes for a long-term strategic partnership to improve security and stability. The Korean Minister of Defense expressed his pleasure at visiting Baghdad, reaffirming South Korea's commitment to advancing Iraqi-Korean relations, particularly in the defense sector.
