Diwaniyah: Dozens of residents of Al-Askari neighborhood and Post Office Street organized a demonstration in front of Al-Ulama’ Roundabout in the center of Diwaniyah Governorate to protest the deteriorating electricity situation.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a number of demonstrators expressed their concerns about the electricity supply, stating that the hours of electricity are reaching several hours, especially given the high temperatures and the irregularity of the supply.

They further demanded that the central government and the Ministry of Electricity take action to increase the governorate’s share of electricity and address the long hours of power outages.
