Deputy Commander of Joint Operations Discusses Strengthening Cooperation with NATO Military Committee Chairman

Baghdad: Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, Lieutenant General Qais al-Muhammadawi, received Admiral Josep Dragon, Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, and his accompanying delegation at his office today, Thursday. Also present were Major General Christophe Hintze, Commander of the NATO Mission in Iraq, and staff officers from the Joint Operations Command.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Command stated in a press release that discussions during the meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between Iraq and the Alliance, particularly in the areas of training, exchange of expertise, and consultation.

The Deputy Commander of Joint Operations emphasized that the NATO Mission in Iraq has made significant efforts, especially in the areas of training and capacity building for Iraqi security forces, which have successfully defeated terrorism and conducted high-quality operations in pursuing ISIS elements.

For his part, the Chairman of the NATO Military Committee stated that the Alliance is working to strengthen relations with Iraq through the exchange of expertise, training, and the provision of consultations, praising the efforts of the Iraqi security forces and their advanced capabilities and progress in their security operations.
