Basra: Deputy Governor Hassan Thahir al-Najjar met with Helen Perens, director of the Dutch organization Dorcas, to discuss joint cooperation in advancing agricultural projects in the province. Al-Najjar emphasized the significance of the organization's role, which is supported by the Dutch government, in providing essential services to these projects.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Najjar highlighted his previous meeting with a delegation from Dorcas and the Ashur Foundation, during which they initiated programs in southern and eastern Basra aimed at combating climate change. These initiatives include the cultivation of jujube seedlings and the rehabilitation of the city of Henna in the al-Faw district. Al-Najjar reiterated the local government's commitment to supporting vital projects, particularly those within the agricultural sector.
