Baghdad:Deputy Speaker of the Council of Representatives Farhad Amin Atroushi held discussions with US Embassy Charg© d’Affaires Stephen Fagin about the latest political and security developments, as well as the potential for joint cooperation and strengthening the relationship between Iraq and the United States.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting took place at Atroushi’s residence in Baghdad on Wednesday evening. The discussions focused on political and security updates and explored ways to enhance bilateral ties between the two nations.

Both Atroushi and Fagin stressed the significance of ongoing coordination and cooperation across various sectors, with particular emphasis on economic and development partnerships.

Atroushi reiterated Iraq’s dedication to establishing balanced relations grounded in mutual interests and respect. He also expressed appreciation for the international community’s backing of Iraq’s efforts to bolster security and stability, and to promote reconstruction, legislative reform, and sustainable development.
