Diyala Governor Advocates for Investment-Friendly Environment to Boost Economic Growth


Diyala: The Governor of Diyala, Adnan al-Shammari, emphasized the critical importance of creating a conducive environment for investors as part of efforts to eliminate obstacles impeding significant investment projects. This initiative aligns with the governorate’s development plans and aims to fortify its economic and industrial framework.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, Governor al-Shammari convened with several investors at the governorate headquarters to explore strategies for bolstering investment in essential sectors. The discussions highlighted the potential for economic development and job creation within the province. Key projects under consideration include ventures in clean and renewable electricity, the establishment of a waste recycling initiative, and the creation of specialized factories and plants. These projects are designed not only to preserve the environment but also to convert waste into valuable economic resources.



The governor reiterated the Diyala local government’s commitment to fostering an investor-friendly climate and tackling challenges faced by serious investment projects. He underscored the significance of public-private partnerships as a means to realize strategic projects. Al-Shammari also expressed the province’s openness to investments that enhance the energy sector, improve environmental conditions, establish industry, and generate employment opportunities for Diyala’s residents.
