Diyala: Diyala Police Commander Major General Mohammed Kadhim Attia announced the arrest of a suspect for illegally transporting foreigners.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Attia stated that the detachments and patrols of the Diyala Governorate Police Command, affiliated with the Bani Saad Police Department/Suwaid Police Station, with support from the Iraqi Army/3rd Regiment, Commando Brigade, Division (23), and the patrols of the Bani Saad Rescue Sector, arrested the accused identified as (A. A. M.), a passenger bus driver. The suspect was apprehended while transporting 19 people of Syrian nationality in remote areas after they entered Iraqi territory without official approval.

He indicated that legal measures were taken against the vehicle driver and the persons entering illegally. The case was presented to the investigative judge, who decided to detain the accused and take legal measures against him in accordance with the provisions of Article (240) of the Penal Code.
