Diyala: The Diyala Provincial Council convened for its sixty-third official session, led by Council Chairman Omar al-Karawi, with the attendance of eleven members forming a quorum. The council addressed several pressing issues, including the ongoing fuel crisis affecting the province, the electricity supply situation in Diyala Governorate, and discussions surrounding the privatization company’s operational mechanisms.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the council also explored strategies to enhance the governorate’s revenues and considered amendments to Resolution No. (4) of 2017 as part of the second amendment. These discussions aimed to bolster the governorate’s resources and develop its revenue streams.

Council member Rashad al-Tamimi provided reassurance regarding the fuel crisis, indicating that it is expected to be resolved by next week. In a press conference at the Diyala Council building, al-Tamimi stated that the council had engaged with the Director of Oil Products Distribution and the Director General of Central Electricity Distribution to address the fuel and electricity challenges, with full resolution anticipated in the coming week.
