Baghdad: Diyala University and Ankara University explored potential avenues for enhancing academic, scientific, and cultural cooperation during an online meeting. The discussion included Diyala University President Tahseen Hussein Mubarak, the Assistant Dean of the College of Artificial Intelligence Engineering Technology, and Ankara University Vice President Yusuf Kadioglu along with Cetin Rauf, who focuses on academic affairs, training, and international cooperation.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting focused on establishing an institutional academic partnership between the two universities. Key areas of interest included research collaboration, knowledge exchange, training programs, and the potential for joint academic and cultural activities. The aim is to develop the skills of students, researchers, and faculty, while also broadening opportunities for international scientific communication.

Additionally, the discussions highlighted the necessary procedures for drafting a joint memorandum of understanding. This would create a formal framework for future cooperation, enabling the launch of joint scientific, research, and training programs. The Vice President of Ankara University expressed eagerness to cultivate ties with Diyala University, stressing the importance of ongoing communication. He noted that a memorandum of understanding and joint program implementation would serve the academic, scientific, and cultural objectives of both institutions. Additionally, a visit to Diyala University is planned to finalize cooperation talks and assess the university’s capabilities, colleges, and research centers, facilitating the development of mechanisms to activate the partnership.
