Diyala University Lecturer Officiates Asian Youth Basketball Qualifiers in Jordan

Baghdad: A faculty member from Diyala University participated in refereeing the qualifying rounds for the Asian Youth Basketball Finals. Ahmed Rafid, a lecturer at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at Diyala University and a certified international referee, participated in refereeing the qualifying rounds for the Asian Youth Basketball Championship finals held in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. His participation was based on a distinguished refereeing record at both the continental and international levels, which includes officiating numerous Arab and Asian championships.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Marwa Khalid Jihad, Director of Media at the College of Physical Education, told a correspondent that this participation comes within the framework of the college's activities aimed at ensuring the presence of its teaching staff at international and local sporting events, thus contributing to the transfer of expertise and the development of the sporting and academic landscape.

For his part, Uday Abdul Hussein Karim, Dean of the College, praised the efforts of the distinguished faculty members in representing the university and the college at international sporting events, emphasizing the college's commitment to supporting their participation in ways that contribute to raising Iraq's profile at continental and international levels.
