Doha: Palestinian political analysts and experts have emphasized the significance of the upcoming emergency Arab-Islamic summit in Doha as a pivotal opportunity to align Arab and Islamic nations against the recent Israeli aggression. The summit is slated to address the violations of international law and sovereignty by Israel, including the recent attacks on residential headquarters of Hamas leaders in Doha.

According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the summit aims to establish a unified stance to confront Israel’s encroachment on Arab sovereignty. The discussions are expected to result in a resolution supported by Arab, international, and UN entities to halt the ongoing violence in the Gaza Strip, as well as address issues of Judaization, annexation, and land confiscation in the West Bank.

Dr. Samir Abu Madallala, a political analyst and academic at Al-Azhar University in Gaza, highlighted the critical role of Arab and Islamic countries in supporting Qatar’s sovereignty and re-evaluating ties with Israel. He emphasized the expansionist threats posed by Israel, which have been persistently promoted by its prime minister. Additionally, Abu Madallala underscored the essential mediation roles played by Qatar and Egypt in attempting to establish ceasefires and truces amid the Israeli aggression in Gaza.

Mohammed Abu Qamar, another political analyst, anticipates that the summit will involve decisive discussions on a collective response to the Israeli actions. He noted the strategic timing of the summit amidst Israeli aggressions, which aim to destabilize peace efforts in Gaza and threaten the broader Arab region. Abu Qamar praised Qatar’s diplomatic efforts in securing truce agreements and criticized Israel’s attempts to undermine these initiatives.

Political researcher Ahmed Abu Zuhri added that hosting the summit in Doha, the site of Israeli aggression, underscores the region’s resolve to stand against such threats. He emphasized that the high-level representation from the Gulf, Arab, and Islamic worlds at the summit signals a robust regional response and highlights the Gaza issue as a priority on the summit’s agenda.

The Doha summit is thus seen as a critical meeting, offering hope for a decisive Arab-Islamic stance against the Israeli government and its expansionist policies, with the potential to stabilize the region and support the creation of a Palestinian state.
