Basra: The technical and engineering staff of the Iraqi Drilling Company completed the recovery of oil well WQ1-201 in the West Qurna 1 field on Tuesday.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the company stated in a statement, “The technical and engineering staff of the Iraqi Drilling Company completed the recovery of oil well WQ1-201 in the West Qurna 1 field in Basra Governorate, using the IDC144 recovery rig. This is part of the company’s operational plans aimed at developing production and enhancing the efficiency of oil wells in the southern fields.”

The statement indicated that “this achievement confirms the high technical capabilities of national staff in carrying out drilling and recovery work in accordance with international quality and safety standards, contributing to supporting national plans to increase production rates and achieve the Ministry of Oil’s goals of strengthening the national economy.”
