Dubai: The Dubai Media Academy (DMA), part of Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI), launched the second edition of its ‘Storytelling Camp,’ organized in collaboration with the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) in Dubai as a community partner. The camp is being held at the Canadian University in Dubai as part of DMA’s efforts to cultivate a new generation of creative young people, empowering them with creative storytelling and digital content creation skills. This aligns with the rapid transformations in the media landscape and the objectives of Dubai’s Education Strategy 2033.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, building on the success of the first edition, the camp offers an intensive three-day training program targeting young people aged 14 to 17 with a passion for media, content creation, and creative expression. The camp is expected to attract between 60 and 100 participants to an interactive learning environment that combines practical training with creative application.
The program focuses on developing modern storytelling skills, creative writing, idea generation, and content creation for digital platforms such as TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts. It also includes training in on-camera performance, filming, and editing, enabling participants to produce innovative digital content that can reach and influence audiences.
The program culminates in each participant producing a complete story project showcasing the skills acquired during the camp. This practical experience prepares them for careers in media, content creation, and creative communication. Participants receive a certificate of participation from the Dubai Media Academy.
Mona Bousamra, President of the Dubai Media Academy, said: ‘The Storytelling Camp is one of the Academy’s flagship programs that embodies its vision of preparing and building a new generation of creative young people capable of harnessing the power of storytelling to create meaningful and impactful content that meets the demands of digital media.’
She emphasized that the Academy continues to develop its training programs in line with the latest global trends in media and content creation, focusing on experiential learning. This contributes to discovering and refining young talent, and preparing qualified professionals capable of competing and innovating in the digital media environment, in accordance with Dubai’s vision of establishing itself as a global hub for creativity and media production.
