Khanaqin: The seismic observatories of the General Authority for Meteorology and Seismic Monitoring recorded an earthquake in Khanaqin district, north of Diyala city, on Sunday.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a Meteorological Department report stated, “An earthquake occurred in Khanaqin district, north of Diyala city, this morning, Sunday, May 4, 2025, at 7:31 AM.”

The report added that “the earthquake measured 2.9 on the Richter scale and was at a depth of 10 km.”
