Tebessa: A 5.8 magnitude earthquake was recorded Sunday evening in the city of Tebessa, northeastern Algeria, according to local media.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Center for Research in Astronomy, Astrophysics, and Geophysics indicated that the epicenter of the earthquake was located 10 km southeast of the town of Negrin.

The Center added that an aftershock of 4.7 magnitude was later recorded 26 km southeast of Negrin in the city of Tebessa.

The Algerian Civil Protection clarified that it did not record any losses as a result of the two earthquakes, confirming that it is continuing its identification and reconnaissance operations.
