Baghdad: Economic specialist Dhurgham Mohammed Ali highlighted the necessity of activating Iraq’s international agreements through the establishment of permanent follow-up committees involving the relevant parties to ensure successful implementation.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Mohammed Ali stressed the significance of the Prime Minister’s recent visit to Germany, which included discussions on several pivotal subjects. These discussions encompassed the financing of strategic projects, such as the Development Road, and the armament file. The visit also addressed the vital energy sector, including oil and electricity, alongside strategic partnerships with German companies, given Germany’s status as the largest economy in the European Union.

He further stated that if the proposals discussed during the visit are realized, they would address numerous obstacles in financing and implementing projects within the electricity sector. Mohammed Ali pointed to the successful model of German initiatives in Egypt, which allowed the country to achieve self-sufficiency in electricity, as a positive precedent for Iraq to emulate.
