Baghdad:The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research recently convened a meeting to discuss the development of education policies and strategic programs. This meeting, part of the periodic sessions of the Education Sector Coordination Group, focused on evaluating the outcomes of the National Education Strategy for 2022-2031.
According to Iraqi News Agency, Haider Abd Dhahad, the Undersecretary for Scientific Research Affairs, chaired the meeting alongside a representative from the European Union Delegation. The session was attended by representatives from UNESCO, UNICEF, the World Bank, the British Council, and various international organizations involved in the education sector. Additionally, officials from the Ministries of Planning, Education, and Labor and Social Affairs, the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, and the Advisory Commission participated.
The meeting, held at Al-Farahidi University, concentrated on discussing regulatory frameworks, general policies, and strategic programs pertinent to the education sector. Participants analyzed the outcomes of the National Education Strategy and explored mechanisms for its development while enhancing coordination among national institutions, international organizations, and partners, aligning with future priorities.
The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, represented by the Undersecretary for Scientific Research Affairs, chairs the Education Sector Coordination Group for a two-year period. This role aims to bolster cooperation and coordination between national entities and international partners in the development of educational policies and programs.
