CAIRO: Egypt and Saudi Arabia have raised alarms over the ongoing humanitarian disaster in the Gaza Strip, emphasizing the need for international intervention and an immediate ceasefire in Lebanon. The concerns were highlighted during a joint statement issued at the conclusion of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s visit to Egypt, where he met with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the two nations expressed their apprehensions about the brutal conditions in the Gaza Strip and the conflict in Lebanon. The joint statement underscored the urgency for the international community to assume its responsibilities in mitigating the crisis and fostering peace. The leaders called for concerted efforts to achieve an immediate ceasefire in Lebanon, stressing the importance of global cooperation in these efforts.

In addition to addressing the critical situations in Gaza and Lebanon, Egypt and Saudi Arabia reaffirmed their commitment to continue their strategic coordination. The
discussions during the Crown Prince’s visit also covered various issues of mutual interest on regional and international levels. Both countries emphasized their intent to strengthen cooperation and joint coordination in addressing these concerns, aiming to preserve international peace and security.
