Baghdad: The Ministry of Electricity confirmed on Tuesday that 600 megawatts of electricity from Turkey have been connected to the national grid. The ministry explained that the Prime Minister's visit to Turkey contributed to the resumption of power supply to Iraq.

According to Iraqi News Agency, Ministry spokesperson Ahmed Turki stated: "The resumption of supply came after the Prime Minister's visit to Turkey and in response to his request for support for the energy sector, and following the Minister of Electricity's request to the company contracted by the ministry to restart the line."

The spokesperson confirmed that "a specific payment mechanism will be established now that Iraq has received 600 megawatts from Turkey and that the electricity has been connected to the national grid."
