Baghdad: The Energy Police Directorate detachments arrested four smugglers of oil derivatives and seized four vehicles in Baghdad and Diwaniyah. According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Third and Sixth Energy Police Brigades conducted the arrests in the respective governorates, targeting individuals involved in the illegal trade of oil derivatives.

The Directorate’s statement elaborated that the smugglers were detained, and their vehicles were confiscated as part of the operation. This action falls under the enforcement of Law No. 41 of 2008, which addresses the smuggling of oil and its derivatives. The legal process to prosecute those involved is underway, emphasizing the ongoing efforts to curb oil smuggling in the region.
