Energy Police Brigades Intercept 10 Tankers in Anti-Smuggling Operations


Baghdad: The Energy Police Brigades have successfully intercepted 10 tankers loaded with petroleum products that were intended for smuggling across different regions of the country.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Interior released a statement detailing the security operations conducted by detachments from the First, Third, Fifth, Seventh, and Eighth Energy Police Brigades. The operations took place in the governorates of Kirkuk, Baghdad, Muthanna, Maysan, and Basra, where the tankers were seized.



The Ministry’s statement highlighted that these actions are part of the General Directorate of Energy Police’s strategy to combat the smuggling of petroleum derivatives and safeguard national resources. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the drivers, and the seized tankers have been transferred to the appropriate authorities as per legal protocols.
