Erbil: The Counter-Terrorism Service in the Kurdistan Region confirmed on Sunday that the two explosions heard within the Erbil Governorate were the result of military exercises and security activity.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Service issued a statement clarifying, “The sounds of the two explosions heard today, Sunday, September 20, within the Erbil Governorate were the result of military exercises and security activity.” The statement assured residents that the explosions are no cause for concern, emphasizing that the security situation in the governorate remains stable.
