Van: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan emphasized that Turkey is determined to swiftly achieve its objectives in eradicating terrorism, as part of its plans for future progress and development. Erdogan made this declaration during a speech at the eighth regular conference of the Justice and Development Party branch in the eastern province of Van. He stated, “We will move quickly towards our goals after completely eliminating the scourge of terrorism that our country has been suffering from for 40 years.”
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Erdogan highlighted that the weakening of the terrorist organization “PKK” due to Turkish operations, along with the regional climate created by the revolution’s victory in Syria, has opened a window of opportunity to resolve the terrorism issue. He asserted that Turkey is determined to achieve the objective of becoming a nation free of terrorism by any necessary means.
Erdogan expressed hope that the issue could be resolved peacefully and smoothly. He warned, however, that if other parties adopt different strategies, Turkey would continue its anti-terrorism efforts with even greater resolve. The president also emphasized his government’s stance against discrimination based on race, language, culture, and lifestyle, and its commitment to preventing polarization among the Turkish population.
He assured, “We will continue to embrace all our people without discrimination between Turks, Kurds, Zazis, Alawi, and Sunnis.” Erdogan further stated that the Turkish government is focused on realistic future plans to advance the country, steering clear of impractical aspirations and instead pursuing significant long-term goals.
The Turkish president also conveyed his confidence in the success of the “People’s Alliance,” led by the Justice and Development Party, in the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections slated for 2028.
