ANKARA: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit convened in Ankara to discuss the ongoing conflicts in Palestine and Lebanon, emphasizing the need for a comprehensive strategy to halt what Erdogan described as Israeli aggression.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, during their meeting on Wednesday, Erdogan accused Israel of attempting to expand the conflict across the region and systematically dispossessing Palestinians. The Turkish President underscored the urgency of imposing an arms embargo on Israel to pressure the nation into ceasing its aggressive actions. He highlighted Turkey’s ongoing efforts to ensure that Israel is held accountable for what he termed as atrocities against the Palestinian people.

Erdogan also touched on other regional concerns, expressing hope for the resolution of conflicts in Syria, Libya, Somalia, and Ethiopia. He voiced his aspiration for these nations to achieve peace, prosperity, and stability soon.
