Istanbul: President Recep Tayyip Erdogan emphasized the sorrow experienced by Muslims during this year’s Ramadan due to the genocide in Gaza and other regions facing oppression.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Erdogan, in his Eid al-Fitr message, highlighted the distressing images from Gaza, expressing Turkey’s firm rejection of the brutality and its efforts to provide humanitarian aid to those affected. He lamented the persistent injustice, massacres, and suffering impacting the Islamic world during the holy month.

Erdogan warned that without effective international intervention, particularly from Western countries, to halt the injustice in Gaza, tyrannical forces would become more emboldened, and the cries of the oppressed would continue to resonate globally. He expressed hope for a global awakening to address these issues.

On Syria, Erdogan noted his vigilance over developments and condemned attempts to disrupt Syria’s territorial integrity and national unity. He assured that Turkey would not permit continued instability along its southern borders.

The Turkish President urged for unity in supporting the Palestinian people, offering prayers for the martyrs and the wounded. He extended Eid al-Fitr greetings, wishing for peace, prosperity, security, and brotherhood for Turkey, the Islamic world, and humanity.

Earlier this month, Syria’s coastal region experienced security tensions following violent attacks by remnants of the Assad regime against security forces, leading to casualties.
