Baghdad: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed bilateral relations and regional and global issues with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin. The Turkish Presidency’s Communications Directorate said in a statement today that Erdogan stressed, during a phone call with his Russian counterpart, that Turkey is making efforts to ensure a ceasefire in Gaza and deliver humanitarian aid.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Turkish President stressed the need to increase the momentum of diplomatic initiatives to end the war between Ukraine and Russia with a just and lasting peace. He indicated that Turkey will continue to work to achieve peace.
