Kuwait city: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed bilateral relations, the Gaza agreement, and the two-state solution with the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Turkish Presidency’s Communications Department reported on the Turkish “In Social” platform that Erdogan and Al-Sabah discussed bilateral relations and regional and international issues during their meeting in Kuwait, where the Turkish President arrived this afternoon.
During the meeting, Erdogan highlighted the strategic importance of the existing cooperation between Turkey and Kuwait in the fields of investment, energy, trade, and defense industries, stressing the potential for further development of these long-standing relations.
Erdogan expressed Turkey’s welcome for the efforts of Kuwait, which currently chairs the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), in promoting regional stability.
He stated that the free trade agreement currently under negotiation between Turkey and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) will contribute to the development of trade relations between his country and the sister Gulf states.
Regarding the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, President Erdogan stressed the critical importance of preserving the “hard-won” agreement, emphasizing that a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is a prerequisite for achieving lasting peace. He emphasized the importance of the Islamic world’s common position in this regard.
Regarding Syria, Erdogan affirmed Turkey’s determination to preserve Syria’s territorial integrity and political unity and move forward with sister Arab countries to build a bright future for the Syrian people.
The Turkish president arrived in Kuwait earlier today, Tuesday, where he was received at the airport by the Emir of the country, Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, with an official ceremony.
The visit to Kuwait comes at the beginning of a Gulf tour by the Turkish President, which also includes Qatar and the Sultanate of Oman.
