Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan emphasized the critical humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip during a phone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump. Erdogan highlighted the severe impact of the ongoing Israeli blockade on Gaza and extended an invitation to Trump to visit Turkey.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Erdogan, in his discussion with Trump, conveyed Turkey’s readiness to assist in providing aid and achieving lasting peace in Gaza. The Turkish Presidency’s Communications Department released a statement noting Erdogan’s support for Trump’s initiatives to terminate wars globally.

Erdogan expressed appreciation for the U.S. negotiations with Iran concerning its nuclear program and acknowledged American efforts to resolve the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. He also reiterated Turkey’s commitment to maintaining Syria’s territorial integrity and promoting stability in the region.

Erdogan suggested that the United States’ reduction of sanctions on Syria would aid in stabilizing the country, thereby fostering regional and global peace. The Turkish President also affirmed Turkey’s intention to enhance cooperation with the United States, particularly in the defense industry.
