Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has asserted that the unity of Turks, Arabs, and Kurds under the banner of Islam has historically led to victories and the spread of peace across the globe.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Erdogan made these remarks during a consultative meeting of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) in Ankara. He addressed the issue of disarmament of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), emphasizing the historical achievements when these groups allied. Erdogan remarked that their collective strength once spread from the China Sea to the Adriatic Sea, bringing peace through their combined efforts.

Erdogan further elaborated on the historical significance of this alliance by stating that the united efforts of Turks, Arabs, and Kurds had brought peace to the region. He highlighted the role of this unity in fostering civilization, art, science, and prosperity. He emphasized the necessity of unity for the survival and success of these groups, warning against the consequences of division.

The Turkish President mentioned several historic cities that have become centers of civilization, emphasizing their shared importance among Turks, Arabs, and Kurds. He recounted historical events, such as the creation of the stories of One Thousand and One Nights in Baghdad and the conquest of Jerusalem under Saladin, as examples of their shared heritage.

Erdogan warned of historical instances where disunity led to destruction, citing the attacks by Mongol armies and the Crusaders as consequences of separation among these groups. He highlighted the loss of World War I and Jerusalem as results of division and stressed that historical alliances had shaped the course of history.

In his concluding remarks, Erdogan pointed to the current situation in Gaza and Palestine, describing it as witnessing severe acts of genocide. He attributed this to the lack of unity among Turks, Arabs, and Kurds, reiterating the historical importance of their alliance.
