Budapest: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is set to travel to Budapest tomorrow, Wednesday, to participate in the informal summit of the Organization of Turkic-Speaking States. The summit is being held under the slogan "Meeting Point of East and West."
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Turkish Presidential Communications Director Fahrettin Altun announced that the Budapest Summit will focus on strengthening the institutional framework of the Organization of Turkic-Speaking States. The summit is expected to see the adoption of several documents and resolutions, including the Budapest Declaration.
Altun further mentioned that President Erdogan will attend the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Organization and engage in bilateral discussions with other participating heads of state and government on the sidelines of the summit.
The Organization of Turkic-Speaking States was founded on October 3, 2009, and comprises Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. Hungary, Turkmenistan, and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus hold observer status within the organization.
