The Hague: During his meeting with US President Donald Trump in The Hague, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan emphasized the necessity of dialogue to resolve the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and achieve a peaceful resolution to the war in Ukraine. The discussion took place on the sidelines of the NATO summit held in the Netherlands.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Erdogan and Trump explored bilateral relations and various international issues during their meeting. Erdogan welcomed the ceasefire between Israel and Iran, achieved through Trump’s efforts, and expressed hopes for its permanence.

The Turkish President highlighted the potential for collaboration between Turkey and the US, especially in sectors such as energy and investment. He conveyed to Trump that enhancing cooperation in the defense industry could aid in reaching the $100 billion trade target between the two nations.

The statement further noted that both leaders underscored the significance of reinforcing the alliance’s deterrent power, acknowledging their roles as key NATO allies.
