Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan emphasized that the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) must cease delaying the implementation of an agreement established with the Syrian government. During his return journey from a visit to Azerbaijan, Erdogan stressed Turkey’s close observation of the agreement’s progress and the necessity for the SDF to adhere to the set timetable.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Erdogan recently engaged in discussions with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa, focusing on the implementation of the March 10 agreement between Syria and the SDF. This agreement aims to integrate civilian and military institutions in northeastern Syria into the state administration, emphasizing Syria’s territorial integrity and rejecting partition.

Erdogan reiterated the importance of preserving Syria’s territorial integrity and national unity. He expressed concerns about the SDF’s procrastination and urged them to fulfill their commitments. Erdogan also addressed the “Turkey Free of Terrorism” initiative, stating that the process is progressing positively despite some opposition.

The Turkish President highlighted ongoing talks with Syria, underscoring Turkey’s commitment to combating terrorism. He expressed vigilance against any attempts to disrupt the process, emphasizing Turkey’s clear objective to eliminate terrorism.

In addition, Erdogan discussed Turkey’s relationship with Azerbaijan, focusing on developing cooperation in strategic areas such as defense, energy, agriculture, and livestock. He mentioned the discovery of 75 billion cubic meters of natural gas in the Black Sea, attributing it to his government’s efforts, and hinted at forthcoming positive developments in the energy sector.

Erdogan also announced an agreement by the Turkish Petroleum Corporation for energy exploration in Pakistan, marking another step in Turkey’s expanding energy endeavors.
