West bank: Media sources have reported a dangerous escalation in attacks by the so-called “Hilltop Youth” settler group in the West Bank.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Israeli army typically does not take effective measures to counter settler attacks in the area. During the current olive harvest season, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has recorded the highest level of settler attacks on Palestinians and their property in the past five years.

Tensions have escalated significantly in recent weeks, with extremist settlers engaging in confrontations with Palestinians that include property damage, looting, and fleeing. This escalation is inflaming the security and field situation in the Palestinian territories, and reflects the absence of an effective deterrent to stop the acts of violence and provocation that are increasing the level of tension and crisis between the two sides.
