Baghdad: The European Union condemned on Thursday the attack targeting the Khor Mor gas field in the Kurdistan Region, expressing its "deep concern" over what it described as "continued attacks on civilian infrastructure in Iraq."

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the EU stated, "Targeting energy facilities directly harms civilians," and affirmed its commitment to continuing cooperation with the Iraqi government and the Kurdistan Regional Government to promote security, stability, and reform in the interest of Iraq and the region.

The EU statement coincided with similar stances from Britain and France, which issued statements strongly condemning the attack, considering it detrimental to the stability of the region and the international energy sector. The United States also called on the Iraqi government to "identify those responsible for the attack and bring them to justice."
