European Union Pledges Support for Gaza Reconstruction Post Sharm el-Sheikh Agreement

Sharm el-sheikh: The European Union has announced its readiness to engage in the reconstruction of Gaza following the Sharm el-Sheikh Peace Agreement. European Council President Ant³nio Costa stated that the EU is prepared to contribute to the implementation of the agreement, which includes establishing a transitional administration, ensuring security, and rebuilding efforts in the Gaza Strip.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Costa expressed these sentiments at the Sharm el-Sheikh Peace Summit, emphasizing the significance of the moment. He thanked US President Donald Trump and the mediators who worked towards achieving this agreement, describing it as a historic step forward. Costa highlighted the joint commitment made during the summit, which aims to bring both parties closer to a sustainable peace rooted in a two-state solution.

Costa further stated that the EU will actively support stability and reconstruction in Gaza, as well as efforts to implement the agreement's provisions. He noted that while the journey towards peace is lengthy, the international community remains united in its dedication to realizing this goal. Costa underscored the importance of harnessing the political momentum from the summit to bolster the prospects of a comprehensive and just resolution.
