Baghdad: The First Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Adnan Faihan al-Dulaimi, held a meeting with the Minister of Education, Abdul Karim Abtan al-Jubouri, to discuss strategies for the development of Iraq's education sector. The discussions focused on addressing critical issues such as the elimination of mud and prefabricated schools, the problem of double shifts, and the adoption of digital transformation in educational practices.

According to Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the media office of the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament revealed that the meeting took place at al-Dulaimi's residence. The discussions centered on the current educational challenges in Iraq and the strategic priorities needed to advance the sector. Among these priorities are expanding school construction projects and building unified educational databases, aligning with the government's program and the parliamentary committee's recommendations on the ministerial curriculum.

During the meeting, Faihan underscored the importance of the education sector as a fundamental element of national development, impacting over 12.2 million students and more than 1.1 million educational staff. He reiterated the Parliament's dedication to supporting the Ministry of Education through necessary legislative measures and financial provisions aimed at enhancing the educational landscape.

Minister al-Jubouri expressed appreciation for the backing from the First Deputy Speaker and the Parliament. He confirmed the Ministry's commitment to executing comprehensive reforms, aiming for a significant transformation in the educational environment. This includes addressing the deficit in school infrastructure and improving educational services to fulfill the needs of students and educators across Iraq.
