Baghdad: First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Adnan Faihan praised the role of the government and security forces and their efforts in securing the Arbaeen pilgrimage on Tuesday.

According to Iraqi News Agency, Faihan expressed his condolences to the Imam of the Time, religious authorities, the people, and the Arab and Islamic nations on the occasion of Arba'een, which he described as the greatest and most enduring human epic. He emphasized that the event highlights the ability of Iraqis to transform values of altruism, solidarity, and unity into a living reality, and that the principles for which Imam Hussein was martyred will continue to inspire freedom across the globe.

Faihan noted the significance of the Arba'een pilgrimage, which attracts millions of visitors from Iraq and beyond, as a unique humanitarian and faith-based message. He underscored the devotion to the path of the Ahlulbayt despite the region's challenges and exceptional circumstances, advocating for inspiration from the lessons of patience, steadfastness, and sincerity found in the school of Karbala.

Expressing gratitude, Faihan thanked the Husseini processions committee, citizens, volunteer groups, and holy shrines for their efforts. He acknowledged the role of local governments, despite limited financial resources, and praised the federal government and security forces for their efforts in securing the pilgrimage. He also extended his thanks to the parliamentary committee dedicated to the Arba'een pilgrimage for overcoming obstacles in implementing service and security plans.

Faihan concluded with a prayer for solace and comfort, expressing hope for acceptance of the pilgrims' deeds and a commitment to following the path of Imam Hussein.
