Baghdad: First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Adnan Faihan emphasized the importance of supporting security agencies and enhancing their capabilities to protect Iraq’s sovereignty.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the media office of the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament stated that Adnan Faihan Al-Dulaimi received the Head of the National Security Service, Basim Al-Badri, at his office. During the meeting, they discussed the latest security developments and current challenges, as well as ways to enhance coordination and integration among various security and intelligence agencies. They also discussed unifying efforts and exchanging information to strengthen the ability to detect and confront threats.

Faihan affirmed the Parliament’s support for security institutions and agencies, stressing the need to enable them to perform their duties with professionalism and competence. He highlighted the importance of bolstering their capabilities to safeguard Iraq’s sovereignty and national interests-particularly in the post-foreign troop withdrawal phase-and coordinating efforts to combat extremism and organized crime while addressing challenges to ensure the country’s security and stability.
