Faihan Pledges Parliamentary Support for Financial Stability Initiatives


Baghdad: The First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Adnan Faihan, has affirmed the Parliament’s commitment to supporting policies and procedures designed to enhance financial stability.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, Faihan’s media office released a statement highlighting his meeting with the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, Nizar Nasser. The meeting, which took place at Faihan’s office on Sunday, was also attended by Uday Awad, Chairman of the Parliamentary Finance Committee. The discussions focused on various economic and monetary issues and explored ways to enhance financial and monetary stability, thereby supporting the national economy and addressing current challenges.



Faihan emphasized the significance of adopting a balanced and effective monetary policy that is based on a proactive vision. Such a policy should be capable of anticipating changes and addressing economic risks and challenges, moving beyond short-term solutions and reactions. He stressed that this approach would strengthen market stability, maintain the strength of the national currency, and bolster confidence in the banking sector. Furthermore, he expressed the Council’s commitment to supporting policies and procedures aimed at financial stability and providing the necessary legislative and regulatory framework to address economic challenges. He noted that this should be done in accordance with a clear vision and in line with the requirements of the national interest.
